In 2020, the world will celebrate the sixth International Yoga Day on Sunday, 21 June 2020. In 2014, the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proposed the idea of International Yoga Day during his speech delivered at the United Nations General Assembly.
Yoga is a way of life. Having its origins in ancient India, Yoga is all about the system that aims at the holistic wellness of humans including the body, mind and the spirit. The idea of International Yoga Day was conceived in order to spread the awareness about the invaluable benefits of Yoga among the world community for physical, mental and spiritual well-being. On this day, several countries organize Yoga camps and awareness programs with the enthusiastic participation of their citizens.
